Back to Campus :: Surviving the First Day of College

I remember my first day of college like it was yesterday. I went to junior college and the transferred to a four year university. I had a scholarship at my junior college and it covered all of my general classes. Which was cool. It was a completely different experience from my four year university experience.

Back to Campus 2017 :: Closet Wish List

Working in retail is something I truly love. Don’t get me wrong, like any job some days suck, some days I don’t want to go to work, and some days customers just make me want to scream. But overall, I love it.

One of the reasons I’m currently loving retail work is helping people with their back to school shopping. It was always one of my favorite parts of the school year and it is definitely the part I miss the most.

Hydration Sensation :: 11 Reasons You Should Always Keep A Bottle of Water With You

I’m pretty much permanently dehydrated thanks to some thrilling medicine I have to be on – fun, right? Prior to this medical requirement, I maybe drank one or two bottles a day. And that was if I had sports or some other outside activity to endure. Since this medical requirement, I have been come the poster child for Hydrate Anonymous. Continue reading

Motivation Monday :: It’s Okay to Fail

I failed Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I set myself a goal and I did not even come close to completing it.

The goal? A two day veggie and juice reset. I’ve been feeling sluggish lately and thought this might be a good way to help kick start my body out of the funk. My goal was to drink three different green juices, two other juices, and punctuate those with meals and snack consisting completely of fruits and veggies.

Healthy Meal Prep :: Carrot Cake Banna Bread

Do you ever buy too many of something and then have tons of leftovers you have no idea what to do with? That’s my life story where bananas, lemons, and well, fruit in general is concerned. That’s how I found myself late one Friday night crazy deep in the bowels (sounds icky, right?) of Pinterest, vainly searching for something to do with my last three bananas.

Mother’s Day Gift Guide :: 2017

Mother’s Day is right around the corner – May 14th to be exact. I love holidays like this because they are an excuse to spoil your loved ones. It’s also a great excuse to do a bit of shopping. Win-win!

I typically like to get several different things and make like a gift basket of sorts. Last year, I grabbed a purse for my mom and filled it with fun, different little bits for her.  It was fun. I think I might make the purse gift bag idea a Mother’s Day regular.

These gifts range from the affordable to the seriously extravagant. I know not everybody’s budget allows for some of these more expensive items, but you and your siblings (or father, or whomever) could always go in on some of these if they seem up your alley.
