Fab Fit Fun :: Spring 2017

I don’t even know where to start because I adore this box so, so much. Every season’s box is fantastic and filled with tons of useful, fun goodies. I’m still using stuff I got in my first box. The items are that great!

What's in the Box(1)

Y’all know how the Fab Fit Fun boxes work? They have two different plans – seasonal and annual. Annual is your best deal at $179.99, while seasonal is $49.99 per season. If you pick the annual membership, also referred to as select, you can customize your box or pick different add ons. What all do you get for your $50? Over $200 of product! Very cool, tight? Sign up here! After signing up, you’ll get four boxes a year, each tailored to a different season.

The Spring 2017 is amazing and perfect for Spring and the transition into Summer. The bright blue box screams Spring with the fun tri-colored pattern. This season’s box was designed by Cat Coquillette, the founder of CatCoq. I love that the use different artist ech box.

What's in the Box

Roundie by Gypsy 05 ($50)

This is the cutest thing! It’s like a picnic blanket and layout towel in one. It’s small enough to fit in a purse or backpack, light weight enough to carry around at concerts  or festivals, washable, and big enough you can share the space with your friends. I’ve already tossed mine in the trunk of my car for impromptu park visits or when Cody and I go hiking. So far we’ve used it for lunch in the backyard, a puppy play date, and to layout on while I read.

Rosarco Milk Reparative Leave-In Conditioning Spray by Briogeo ($20)

This light weight spray has coconut, argan, and rosehip oils and acts as a conditioner and heat barrier. I go natural most of the time and sprays like these are great for refreshing curls throughout the day and fighting frizz. I love this product because I am huge on using paraben, sulfate, and phthalates free hair products. I’m trying to improve my hair’s health and avoiding those icky items in hair products has helped immensely.

Zip Pouch by Milly ($45)

You can never have too many ‘toss and go’ style bags. This cute Milly bag is no exception to the rule. The Slay All Day bag is water resistant, making it prefect for storing hair products, makeup products, and even bathing suits. I know this bag is going to be used so much this summer!

Microdermabrasion Age Defying Exfoliator by Dr. Brandt ($79)

I’ve been wanting to try this face wash for so long, so I was beyond excited when I found it in this season’s box. I’ve only tried a few products from Dr. Brandt, but all of them have been fantastic (Try the Pore No More primer!). This scrub uses lactic acid, aluminum oxide crystals, and botanicals to basically polish your skin, revealing brighter and smoother skin. I use this with my Clarisonic Mia Fit and I know I’m going to invest in another bottle after I finish this one. I only use a scrub twice a week, but the results from Dr. Brandt have lasted all week. A little goes a long way so it is well worth the price.

Hydrating + Face Mask by Karua ($28)

Oh how excited I was to find a face mask in this box! They included a months supply at one mask a week, perfect to try this brand and evaluate the quality. This mask targets dry, dull skin, improving hydration by 40% while promoting elasticity. Oh, I’ll have a full review coming soon after I’ve had a chance to use all four, but I can confidently say that these masks are so worth the price. My skin was glowing after one use. I use them before bed and 12+ hours later, my skin was still extra hydrated and bright.

Lip Kit by RealHer ($48)

I AM AWESOME. I love that these lips kits come with positive affirmation’s on the box and on each individual item. I got the shade deep nude. I’ve been wearing the lip liner and liquid lip combo for the last few days and it is great quality. I’ll probably be investing in another kit sometime, because they are basically smudge proof. What is amazing is the story behind the products. The founder created these products so that his daughter and girls like her would have positive impact from makeup. Also, 20% of all of RealHer’s profits are donated to a non profit organization – AAUW – that helps fund scholarships, advocacy, and education programs among others.

Nail Polish Set by Deborah Lippmann ($19)

I received the colors ‘Like A Virgin’ and ‘Shape of My Heart’. Like A Virgin is an almost sheer white, while Shape of My Heart is a sheer pink. Both of these colors are perfect for spring and can even easily transition into summer. Layer them over other colors or wear alone, wither way your nails are sure to look great.

Diamond Kite Crawler Earring Set buy Luv AJ ($85)

This set is simply perfect. Made from 14k rose gold with diamonds studded in the middle of each diamond, this set can transition from day to night with ease. I actually only own two pieces of rose gold jewelry, so I was hyped to see these in my box. I wore them to work and got tons of compliments. Also, how cute would these be if you had your ears double pierced.

What's in the Box(2)

Obviously this was a great deal! I got eight amazing products delivered straight to my door (well, PO Box), got introduced to a few new brands, and I love every single one.

Do you get the Fab Fit Fun boxes? If so, what was your favorite product this season?

Rockstarlet :: IPSY November Glam Bag

I wish IPSY had an app. Wouldn’t that be cool? You could check your information, review the products, and see all the videos in one handy pace….but we shall just have to be content with what we have – for now.

But, I am more than content with this month’s glam bag! You know how some months they just kill it and provide beyond awesome products? It’s like that this month. I’m blown away.

The theme this month is super cute – Rockstarlet. The products in my bag support that theme 100%, giving a full face rockstarlet look. I love the direction they took with the bag, too. It plays off the star part of Rockstarlet and is so fun.

The product I am head over heels in love with this month (and it was the product I was most excited about) is the vanilla powder by Bésame Cosmetics. I fell in love with this brand last year when I purchased a travel sized red lipstick by them from Sephora. Super pigmented, super creamy, and luxuriously high quality. So I was over the moon to try this vanilla powder. I use vanilla powder or banana powder to set my under eye concealer – usually the yellow powder from the Kat Von D Shade Light palette mixed with some of the Hourglass Cosmetics Dim Light powder. This powder is by far the best I’ve ever used. It blends like a dream and leaves an almost Instagram worthy airbrushed finish with a velvety texture. I already know I’m going to be purchasing a full size long before I run out of this one.

IPSY originally introduced me to the Hey Honey brand and I’ve been a huge fan ever since, so I was hyped to see their Good Morning Honey Silk Facial Serum included this month. Seriously, it’s killer. It’s a super light serum that dries quickly, leaving you with glowing, hydrated, and soft skin. It has a super, super light scent and the best part – drum roll please – it doesn’t leave your skin oily and won’t have negative side effects for your make up.

The Blam – an IPSY favorite – included their Mad Lash mascara. Wands like this are my favorite because I have abnormally short lashes and these types of wands grab every single lash and lengthen them while separating and preventing clumps. I like to apply a super thin coat, followed by the Dior DiorShow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum, and then a few more thin coats. My lashes literally triple in length. This mascara is fantastic.

The Dark Red lipstick by Absolute New York is the perfect shade of red for the Rockstarlet theme. Pair it with a decent lip liner and boom – you have the perfect red lip. The lipstick isn’t super creamy because it is a matte formula, but it applies easily and evenly. I’m pretty sure this shade would look bangin’ on most people. I don’t remember ever using any Absolute New York products before, but I would be willing to try pretty much anything after this good experience.

The last product included this month is by Doucce. I’ve never heard of this brand before, but this Freematic Blush in the shade Zen Orange 49 is pretty rad.  It is extremely creamy, smooth, and blends (well, I’ve already used the term ‘like a dream’ so…) like fresh butter. The color is not exactly orange, more like a peony tinted orange with a slight shimmer. It’s perfect for pairing with a fresh faced look. I can’t wait to add it into my rotation.

So now that you’ve sat there and read me gushing about how much I freaking love all of these products, how about you take the plunge and sign up for IPSY (if you haven’t already) so you can be super stoked about your bag next month. Kay?

If you have signed up, what products was your favorite this month?

Rebel Rebel :: June IPSY Glam Bag

Misfits. Rule breakers. Badass babes. The riot starts this June. We’re hitting the streets with serious sizzle and signature looks. Coloring outside the lines is encouraged. Sitting on the side of the lines is not.

How encouraging is that quote? I read it on my IPSY postcard and fell in love. I adore that IPSY encourages you to do you no matter what that might be. Awesome, right?

Rebel Rebel :: June 2016 ISY Glam Bag Post Card

This month’s bag is so cool. It is the typical zipper style IPSY bag we love but with a killer graffiti print. it is one of the most fun bags I’ve gotten since I signed up for IPSY.

Rebel Rebel :: June 2016 IPSY Glam Bag

My favorite product this month is the Formula X nail polish in the shade “Wing Woman”. It’s a fun, bright hot pink perfect for summer and all of the bright prints that come with it. I wore this to work and got so many compliments on the shade. If you didn’t get this in your bag, go and grab it soon.

I just adore The Balm’s eyeshadows. I got another of the Meet Matt(e) Trimony shades a few bags back and it rocked. This shade (Matt Kumar) is a nice warm burgundy – perfect for those sunset eyeshadow looks that you see all over YouTube and Instagram this time of year. It’s slightly purple, so it would great with pink or purple shadows.

I really appreciate getting brushes in my glam bags because you can never really have too many makeup brushes. Especially blending brushes, right? This double ended brush by Royal & Langnickel is perfection. The bristles are so plush (every time I say plush it makes me think of the movie Sleepover – Steve is so plush 😛 ), soft, and fluffy. Plus, the teal color is fun!

I got another Be a Bombshell lip gloss in the shade “Secret”. Personally, I’m not a huge fan of their glosses because the consistency and color payoff is iffy. However, some people truly love them, so it is for sure a personal thing. This color is awesome, though. It is a lovely poppy pink with tons of sheen.

The last product this month is the Everything Balm by Delectable. I had no idea what to think of this when I first opened it. But guys, it will knock your socks off. So far, I’ve used it on my cuticles, split ends, chapped lips, and dry patches of skin and it has worked amazing for all of it. It is the perfect thing to toss in your purse – a “one and done” type of product.

IPSY April Glam Bag

My April IPSY glam bag came last week and I am loving it! I’ve been sick all week so it has taken me forever to get this up.

2016 IPSY April Glam Bag

It’s full on Spring here and I adore it – rain, flowers, and bright green grass – not to mention the warmer weather! I could live in Spring year round. I adore the clothes and the makeup . . . almost as much as I adore this glam bag. The theme this month is ‘Dreamers’. Cute, huh?

2016 IPSY April Glam Bag

I cannot pick which product is my favorite this month. I’m stuck between this amazing cream eyeshadow by Starlooks and hair oil by Moroccan Oil.

I am by no means a fan of cream eyeshadow. I always fall in lust with it, but I’m over it after a few wears because it creases, transfers, or rubs away. This one by Starlooks is entirely different! I always sample the products as soon as I pull the bright pink mailer from my box. Seriously, I open them in my car! I put some of this on the back of my hand, fell in love with the color, and promptly forgot it was there. The color is ‘Rose Gold’ and it is lovely, truly lovely.

2016 IPSY April Glam Bag :: Starlooks Cream Eyeshadow

I wore it today with Urban Decay’s Half Baked over it. Perfection. It also looks freakin’ amazing under Chopper. Half Baked is more of a true gold and Chopper more rosy – each shadow brings out different tones in the Starlooks’ cream shadow. The color payoff is huge, too. My only complaint is that it dries really quickly, almost too quickly for me to apply it evenly. But that is completely something I can learn to work with.

The Moroccan hair oil is awesome, too! This is the first product I have ever had from Moroccan Oil. My hair is super dry and brittle – partly due to the natural texture and partly due to the fact I colored it purple a few months back. Seriously, the purple hair was worth it, but some days styling dry hair is difficult. Oil is one of the best things for dry hair.

2016 IPSY April Glam Bag :: MoroccanOil Hair Oil

I usually start my day with coconut oil on my hair (I know, you’ve heard all about the benefits – but try it!), but it is way too heavy when my hair is straight. That’s when this hair oil comes in. It is light but just as hydrating as coconut oil. Perfect, right? I only use a few drops because you truly do not need more than that. I will be purchasing a full size version of this as soon as I run out.

2016 IPSY April Glam Bag :: MorcconOil Hair Oil

I’m slowly quickly becoming a brush junkie and this month, my glam bag helped that addiction. This brush is from Crown Brush – C427, Tapered Duo Fiber Brush – and it so freakin’ soft. It is dense toward the base and center, but lighter toward the end – perfect for an airbrushed look. Or so I’m told. I’m not an MUA – I just watch a ton of YouTube videos. Haha! It also has these cool indentions for your fingers.

I first tried it with blush, but didn’t like how it blended. Disappointed, I almost tossed it into a drawer, but my boyfriend said something about how it looked like a brush that Jaclyn Hill used in a video we had just watched. My ah-ha moment struck and I used it for my highlighter. BOOM. Perfection. My highlight has been better than ever.

A couple months back, in a FabFitFun box, I got a lip gloss by Tarte’s LipSurgence collection, and I love it. It’s become my go-to lip gloss for when I want a bit of color but don’t want something heavy.

2016 IPSY April Glam Bag :: Tarte LipSurgence

This month I scored a lippie from that same collection. I think in the shade CD76? I’m not sure, it wasn’t clearly labeled. The color is more of an orange red and kind of sheer when on my lips, but my swatches make it look more dark coral. My lips are naturally more mauve in tone, but I plan to try it with my orange lip liner soon. I think the color with that will be lovely.  I’m doing a terrible job of describing this, but it is a tough one – I think overall, it would read coral on most people.

2016 IPSY April Glam Bag :: Tarte LipSurgence

Check out the swatches, though. I did one on me and one on Cody to show the difference and the tone better. Cody kept thinking I was saying switches – haha! I also swatched the Starooks cream shadow. I still can’t get over how pretty it is!

REN’s Evercalm Global Protection Day Cream was included and is pretty awesome. It helps protect against free radicals. I always make sure to use a serum or a face lotion that specifically protects against this when I go on vacations or day trips because cities have a lot more pollution than my small town and I hate the havoc it does to my skin.

2016 IPSY April Glam Bag :: REN Clean Skincare Day Cream

The lotion absorbs ridiculously well and leaves the skin smooth and not oily. Amazing! My only real complaint about this product is that it doesn’t contain sunscreen, but that is easy to fix. Besides, guess what’s better than sunscreen? The fact that REN made this day cream without any parabens, sulphates, mineral oil, petrolatum, synthetic fragrances, or glycols silicones. That is more than worth having to apply sunscreen.

2016 IPSY April Glam Bag :: Ren Skincare

Have we talked about that bag? No? How could we not! It is an adorable tie dye pattern. It strikes me as more of a summer bag versus a springy bag, but I still love it. It would be perfect tossed into a pool bag or used to carry your money when sunning with your friends.

Hello Spring :: March IPSY Glam Bag

2016 IPSY March Glam Bag

Spring is one of my favorite times of the year for fashion and makeup. I love wearing pastels, florals, and all sorts of pinks. What better way to welcome Spring than with 70 degree weather and a new glam bag? This weekend I got to wear sandals, boyfriend crops, and the goodies in my March IPSY bag – you could say it was a win in my book.

My favorite item from this month’s bag is the bag itself. I adore the coral and pale blue color scheme. It is beyond perfect for spring! I already tucked it into my purse for lippies.

2016 IPSY March Glam Bag

My second favorite item is the OFRA Cosmetics eyeliner in Green Go. I wear green eyeliner year round, but switch to a lighter shade during the spring/summer months. The dark greenish black I prefer during the winter is too heavy in the spring. This green is just perfect and the OFRA eyeliners are insanely creamy and easy to use.

I really love the Beau Gachis eyeshadow brush. Lately I’ve been using Morphe brand brushes and they are amazing but this one is just as good. Insanely soft bristles, easy to use, and doesn’t waste product – there isn’t much more you could want in an eyeshadow brush.

The Aphrodite Olive Oil Eye Cream is heavenly. Last year I really started focusing on the ingredients that were NOT in my face and hair products. I avoid products that contain parabens, silicones, phthalates, alcohol, and sulfates so I was pretty freakin’ happy when I saw this product was following in the footsteps of the rest of my products. Aside from the awesome benefits of what isn’t in this product, there are so many amazing benefits from what is in the cream. Water is the first ingredient on the ingredient list and that’s fantastic. Your body needs and craves water, so using products on your skin and hair that have water in the top two or three ingredients is really beneficial. This eye cream is thick without being overpowering, has a light scent, and absorbs quickly. It leaves your eye area feeing soft and smooth while still being light enough to use under makeup.

IT Cosmetics included Bye Bye Under Eye full coverage anti-ageing waterproof concealer in the shade medium. I’m happy with the shade; it’s the right color for me. However, the concealer might not be right for me. It’s really thick and has a tendency to get cakey really fast. The first day I used it was a disaster, but the second day went much better. Day one I used my fingers and day two I used a damp Beauty Blender. The Beauty Blender thinned the concealer out nicely, but that took away some of the coverage which is a con in my book.

The last item included in this month’s bag is Model Co’s lip lacquer in socialite. I am so not a fan of this item. I love a good gloss, but this isn’t one of them. It is beyond sticky – like, stickier than those cheap glosses little kids get for holidays. The color payoff isn’t good either. It’s very patchy. The one thing I do love about this gloss is the color. It is super cute and perfect for spring. I think I’m going to give this to Marley – she loves when I give her “grown up” makeup!

Have you guys ever tried IPSY?

February IPSY Glam Bag

February is one of my favorite months .  . . normally. I’ve been sick for a little over a week so I haven’t felt up to baking any of my February staples like red velvet cupcakes and Oreo balls. I started feeling a bit better this morning so I’m hoping I feel wel enough to bake on one of my days off next week. Well, my Februar brightened up when I got home from work today because my glam bag from IPSY was waiting on me.

The theme this month is ‘Pretty in #IPSYPink’. I love that because I love pink and the 80’s classic Pretty in Pink.

I am so excited for this month’s bag. All of the product look amazing! I haven’t had a chance to try any of them yet, so I’ll just share the photos.

How’d you like your glam bag this month?

December Glam Bag :: So in Love

Love is a strong word and I wouldn’t use it to just describe anything, but I love my December IPSY bag. I mean, what isn’t to love? This month the products were all amazing!

And how cute is the red quilted bag? The vibrant, true shade is great for the holiday season.

My absolute favorite is the Pacifica Power of Love lipstick in the shade Tender Heart. It’s a great neutral pink that leans toward the mauve side. It goes on so smooth and one coat covers the natural lip color. It has great lasting power. The best thing about this lipstick is that it 100% vegan, cruelty-free, AND a portion of the proceeds of this product goes to support clean water.

Model Co. lip liner in 15108 is great, too. It is a neutral like the lipstick, but a few shades darker. I wish I had thought to take swatches of these products.

The Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later eyeshadow primer is killer. It’s kind of a pearl color and has a slight shimmer. Once rubbed in, it makes a really smooth finish and it holds shadow forever. It is almost as good as my Urban Decay primer, but it does crease a little more. Still a pretty great product to have!

I have used the entire sample of Briogeo’s Curl Charisma defining crème. It has rice amino, avocado oil, and quinoa extract to smooth and hydrate curls. It works like a charm. Love , love, love it!

The last product included Ricky Care’s 3D blender. It’s like a Beauty Blender but blue. I’m going to see if any of my friends want it because I have a few different blender sponges that I’m already in love with. It seems like a shame to hoard such a great product.

To top it off, the awesome IPSY team included a thank you note. How sweet!

Have you tried IPSY? If not, why??
